AGP members have just completed a short fieldwork expedition at Gornergletscher, Kanton Wallis, Switzerland. Channels of data including EC, discharge, reflectivity and stage continue to be collected. In the below picture, Dr Neil Entwistle is seen negotiating the high mountain path above Grenzgletscher.
The 42nd field season of the Alpine Glacier Project is underway with data being collected at Gornergletscher. We currently have 6 channels of data rolling in, collecting an array of climatological and hydrological data on the hour, every hour. Logging equipment will run for the entire melt season adding to the long series of data collected in Zermatt.

1st June 2017 – The Guardian report on research by the AGP’s Dr Neil Entwistle on UK floodplains, stating that intensive farming is behind the destruction of natural flood barriers which makes low lying areas more vulnerable to flooding. You can read more here.
